We collect information to provide a better learning experience and to manage school/classroom accounts. This may include:
- Account Information: Name, email address, and profile image when you sign in via Google OAuth.
- Progress Data: Mission completion status, level, XP, RoboCubes, and battery levels.
- Learning Evidence: Mission results, mastery scores, code logic traces, and knowledge check results.
- Community Data: Shared mission results, leaderboard rankings, and classroom challenge participation.
- Teacher/School Data: Classroom lists, student progress tracking, and teacher-assigned challenge data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Authentication: Using Google Sign-In to verify your identity and protect your account.
- Progress Persistence: Saving your building and coding progress so you can pick up where you left off.
- Educational Feedback: Analyzing mission attempts to provide mastery scores and learning recommendations.
- Classroom Management: Allowing teachers to monitor student progress and manage classroom challenges.
- Leaderboards & Community: Displaying rankings and shared build results within the RoboRift community.
- Support: Responding to inquiries and providing technical assistance.
3. Google OAuth & Third-Party Services
RoboRift Academy uses Google OAuth for authentication. We only request basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) required to create and maintain your account. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use Supabase for secure data storage and authentication management.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not share your private account data with advertisers. Limited data may be visible to others as follows:
- Teachers/Schools: If you are part of a school pilot or classroom, your teacher can see your progress and results.
- Public Leaderboards: Your username and score may appear on public rankings if you participate in challenges.
- Shared Results: If you explicitly choose to share a mission result link, that specific data will be viewable by those with the link.
5. Children, Students, and Schools
RoboRift Academy is designed for educational use. We encourage schools and teachers to obtain parental consent before enrolling students under 13. We are committed to maintaining a safe learning environment and do not collect more data than is necessary for the educational experience.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request account deletion or data export at any time by contacting us at roboriftapp@gmail.com.
